Serving Pennsylvania's 2nd District

Friend,

Conservatives in Washington have shut down the government because they refuse to protect health care for American families. Donald Trump is proposing a partisan budget that fails to extend cost-saving health care tax credits. Without these tax credits, thousands of our neighbors here in Philadelphia will lose their health care, and thousands more will pay higher costs.

Health care costs are already too high. In our district, 25,000 people will pay more if Republicans don’t vote to extend critical tax credits. Premiums could spike by 183% for a 60-year-old couple, 327% for a family of four earning $64,000, and 41% even for middle-class families making $129,800. Nearly 36,000 of our neighbors could lose coverage entirely because of Republican policy cuts (Source: House Budget Committee Minority). Across Pennsylvania, the average 2026 premium for people with Affordable Care Act coverage is set to rise by over 100% (Source: Pennie).

I've been asking our neighbors to share their health care stories – and I want you to hear from them. Stories like these are exactly why I won’t stop fighting to keep conservatives in Washington from raising your health care costs. Want to share your own story? Visit my website here.

“I work as a mental health counselor at a small private practice. As an independent contractor, I have to buy my own health insurance through Pennie. With the projected cuts to the ACA, I’m estimated to see a 65% increase in my monthly premiums, which will be a genuine hardship. I’m stuck with the decision of whether to reduce the level of my coverage, which is concerning since I am a recent cancer survivor who needs regular checkups with my oncologist and regular radiology screenings.”

“I have received a letter stating my insurance through Pennie will go from 398.00 to 709.00 per month and that will be impossible for me to afford.”

“My combined monthly payment for insurance for me and my husband is $370 which is already the limit of what we can afford. We are both independent contractors and don't have access to a workplace group plan. We have received notice from Pennie that next year, our premium will be over $500. We cannot afford that, and will have to forgo health insurance. This is a disaster for us as we approach middle age.”

Health care costs are already too high—the last thing families need is for conservatives in Washington to make insurance even more expensive. In the wealthiest nation on earth, no one should fear the price of seeing a doctor or filling a prescription. As your Congressman, I’ll keep fighting to make sure every family can access the care they deserve.

Sincerely,
