The Trump administration has been on a recent trend of sending the National Guard to cities and states that dare to disagree with him. Deploying these units under the guise of policing and curbing crime is dangerous and, frankly, ineffective. Especially if deterring crime is truly the goal.

Through our own policies, our administration has effectively lowered gun violence rates in Pennsylvania.

None of it has been done by using our own military against our citizens. Instead, we’ve invested hundreds of millions of dollars into violence prevention programs across the Commonwealth.

We know what it takes to keep our communities safe, and it isn’t tanks rolling down our streets. That’s why I’m taking action to support our fellow states and stop this unprecedented overreach from the Trump administration. We’re taking them to court for the unlawful and dangerous deployment of the National Guard.
