It’s now been two full weeks since the government shutdown. And while families across the country brace for missed paychecks, Republicans in Washington are refusing to act.
Instead of working toward a real solution, Congressional Republicans are using this shutdown to punish Americans — all because they refuse to extend the healthcare subsidies that help millions afford basic care.
If Republicans succeed, premiums could double or even triple for families in our district and across the country.
And while this crisis continues, national Republicans are already lining up behind their handpicked candidate to try and flip NM-02.
We’ve seen how far too many GOP hopefuls bend the knee to Donald Trump. The question now is: will the next Republican nominee for NM-02 fight for New Mexicans, or will they only work to carry out Trump’s agenda?
New Mexicans can’t afford to find out.
