This $29 million grant for a children’s hospital was supposed to fund a long-duration energy storage system — one that would power critical operations during outages and blackouts. It was literally designed to save kids’ lives when the grid goes down.
But the Trump Administration seems to have made these cuts without rhyme or reason. Anything that was remotely related to clean energy became a target (particularly if they were in blue states).
This isn’t about politics. It’s about kids in hospital beds, doctors trying to save lives, and communities that deserve better. But instead of protecting projects that strengthen our infrastructure and keep people safe, Trump is treating these life-saving investments like collateral damage.
The truth is, these cuts don’t just hurt blue states and programs they don’t like. They hurt all of us. That’s why SEEC PAC is fighting to elect more leaders who will stand up for science, safeguard clean energy, and protect the communities that rely on both.
Thanks to your help in 2024, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 119th Congress while we continue fighting for a sustainable future.
