As we enter the third full week of the government shutdown driven by Senate Democrats, I want to remind everyone that House Republicans have acted responsibly to keep the government open. Unfortunately, Senator Schumer is still choosing to hold government funding hostage.

President Trump and Republicans have found a way to pay our troops during the shutdown. It is hard to believe, but some Democrats are threatening to go to Court and block the President from moving the funds to pay our service members. I have said repeatedly that our troops should never be used as pawns during a government shutdown.

 I am thankful that President Trump is working to move funds to ensure that our service members get paid. The surest way for our brave servicemembers to receive their paychecks is for Senate Democrats to act responsibly and approve the House-passed Continuing Resolution. Doing so would reopen the federal government, allowing Republicans and President Trump to continue delivering on the work the American people elected them to do.

Israeli Hostages Freed

After two years of intense war in Gaza, President Trump has brokered a historic peace deal in the Middle East. Within that peace plan, Hamas released all the living Israeli hostages. I am thankful to President Trump for his continued efforts to bring peace around the world.
