As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our founding, we reflect on a nation built as a democracy by the people, for the people, striving toward a more perfect union. Our Founders understood that the road ahead would not always be easy, but they also believed that our brightest days are always ahead of us. Today, that vision remains our own: citizens working together grounded in principle and committed to perfecting our union. No demagogues. No cults of personality. Just everyday Americans striving to make our country stronger and better.
That’s why we started Principles First — to give a home to those who feel alienated by the politics of our current moment and who sense that we are losing sight of the critical ingredients that make America.. America. We intend to be the premier home for every person in the country who is ready to move past the politics of chaos and division and in a new direction with a new coalition focused on conserving America's core classically liberal tradition of individual rights, constitutional government, innovation and enterprise, and the rule of law. If that's you - Principles First is where you belong.
Last year Principles First showed its strength, selling over 1,200 tickets and proving that Principles First is a growing, lasting force in American civic life. We even attracted a few Proud Boys hecklers, so we must be doing something right. Since then, we have launched 25 state chapters, and next year we aim to be active in all 50 states. That growth is a testament to you — our supporters, volunteers, and members — and the important work we’re doing together to strengthen democracy, uphold individual rights, and defend the key ingredients of the American experiment.
For our 2026 Principles First Summit, we’re aiming even higher. We expect 1,200+ attendees from across the country, and to welcome this larger crowd, we’re moving to the Gaylord in National Harbor, Maryland.
Our theme this year was an obvious choice: America 250. Our discussions and programming will focus on highlighting the ideas and leaders that have made America the envy of the world since 1776 -- and will look ahead to what needs to be done in the coming years to protect and pass on that inheritance to future generation of Americans. It will be the most important set of discussions we have ever had as an organization.
We hope you’ll consider joining and supporting us this February. Unlike other gatherings, we keep ticket costs reasonable, and every dollar goes directly back into our mission — powered by volunteers who give their time and energy to strengthen democracy and civic engagement.
