Since we emailed you yesterday, we were so heartened that so many of you signed our petition calling for an increase in access to affordable health care.

But we’ve since learned two alarming facts that we need to make sure you’re aware of:

-Trump has officially begun the process to withdraw the United States from the World Health Organization
-Pence is fundraising and campaigning across eastern Pennsylvania tomorrow

As coronavirus continues to spread and spike across the country, instead of focusing on the pandemic and protecting our communities, Pence is focused on fundraising as Trump focuses on petty squabbles.

Amid a pandemic, the Trump administration is once again showing how little they care about the wellbeing of millions of Americans by asking the Supreme Court to overturn the Affordable Care Act.

As millions face unemployment and the loss of employer-provided health care, we shouldn't take away access to health care and doom people to endless medical debt or inadequate care.

Unfortunately, this move from GOP leadership and from Trump is not surprising⁠—from an administration that constantly shows how little they care for human life and human rights, this is not an aberration.

The good news? House Democrats, including Mad, have passed legislation to expand the Affordable Care Act. The plan will expand federal help for premiums and cost-sharing and make prescription drugs more affordable.
