Dear John,
The 2026 midterms are less than a year away, and Trump has placed Heather Honey, one of the architects of 2020 election denialism, in charge of the security of these elections. It’s clear Trump will never back down from the Big Lie, keep undermining the public’s trust, and push falsehoods and uncertainty on the American people all over again.
Heather Honey wasn’t just another conspiracy theorist Trump supporter. She orchestrated sham “audits,” pushed baseless lawsuits, and even helped try to seize the voting machines in Pennsylvania. Her actions were part of the larger campaign of lies and chaos that culminated in the January 6 attack on the Capitol. Now, she’s in charge of safeguarding the very elections she once tried to undermine.
This is a deliberate attempt to continue stoking the public’s doubt and distrust of the democratic process across the country and to call into question any votes that do not go Trump’s way.
Send a direct message to Congress: Don’t let Heather Honey and other 2020 election deniers rig the 2026 elections! Block their appointments and provide funding to protect our elections and our democracy now.
Now, while election officials across the country are pleading for resources to guard against cyberattacks and foreign interference, GOP leaders are elevating the very people who rejected democratic processes in favor of disorder.
Congress cannot sit on its hands. Lawmakers must launch an immediate investigation into Honey’s appointment, block election deniers from positions of authority, and pass emergency funding to secure the 2026 elections.
We saw what happened when Trump and his allies tried to overturn the will of the voters in 2020: the lies, the lawsuits, the insurrection. Ignoring the warning signs now risks an even greater breakdown in 2026. Congress has a choice: protect democracy, or empower those who already tried to destroy it.
Tell Congress: Block Heather Honey’s appointment now. The integrity of the 2026 elections is on the line.
Thank you for doing your part to defend our democracy.
