Hi, it’s Raul,
I'm working hard to reopen the government, but Republicans in power refuse to open the government unless they can gut people’s healthcare.
They’re hellbent on completely stripping away Americans' access to health care with no compromise. It’s unacceptable.
It was unacceptable when they gutted Medicaid by nearly $1 trillion dollars to give more tax cuts to billionaires in the Big Ugly Bill.
And it’s unacceptable now as they try to cause MASSIVE rate hikes in insurance premiums by ending the ACA tax credit extension.
I’ve heard from our communities — it’s already hard enough paying for rising rent, food, and everyday living expenses.
Now, they're threatening to exploit this moment to push through reckless federal layoffs — putting countless livelihoods at risk and deepening instability for working families. We cannot allow it.
Federal budgets are more than line items. These numbers have real impacts on our lives, and our communities deserve better than to suffer as billionaires line their pockets.
I need you to stand with me. Will you help me reach 5,000 signatures to demand that Republicans end the shutdown and reopen the government? [[link removed]]
Thank you for joining me in this fight,
Raul Ruiz

The son of hardworking farmworkers, Dr. Ruiz grew up in Coachella, CA and learned at an early age that the key to attaining the American Dream is hard work and a great education. In the summer of 1990, Raul walked in the desert heat from business to business in the Coachella Valley asking them to invest in their community by contributing to his education. With each investment for college, he made a promise to come back home and serve his community as a physician. In 2012, he decided to take his service to the community to the next level by running for Congress. Dr. Ruiz needs our help to continue fighting for us in Congress.
