Herbert,
We’re now two weeks into this reckless Republican shutdown — and still, no end in sight.
Why? Because we can’t compromise if we’re not even talking to each other.
President Trump — the self-proclaimed “great negotiator” — is completely AWOL. Speaker Johnson has canceled votes for the third week in a row. And most of my Republican colleagues aren’t even in Washington.
Meanwhile, federal workers are being illegally fired, and American families can’t access the vital government services they depend on.
I spoke with WBAL Radio about this dangerous stalemate — and called for what’s long overdue: real leadership, honest dialogue, and a bipartisan path forward to reopen the government.

Let’s do our jobs.
Let’s end this shutdown.
I'm grateful, as always, for your support in this fight.
