Dear John,

Today marks the last day of Hispanic Heritage Month , a time to celebrate the different cultures of Latin American countries. It’s also an opportunity to educate those who don’t identify as part of any Latin American cultures or countries about the struggles, oppressions, systemic barriers, racism, xenophobia, and other injustices Hispanic and Latino communities face on a daily basis.

VoteRiders has been celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month by joining with partner organizations and participating in cultural events where we can distribute bilingual, culturally relevant information about voting rights and voter ID.

But really, VoteRiders celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month all year long! We always invest time and resources into translating our information and providing bilingual services, as well reaching out to Hispanic and Latino communities and voters.

We partner with organizations that work with intersectional groups within these communities — people who don’t speak English, mixed status families — to ensure that those who are eligible to vote have the documents and information they need to cast their ballot with confidence.

To learn more about VoteRiders' work with Hispanic and Latino communities, read my in-depth interview with VoteRiders National Outreach Director Dr. Selene Gomez.
