General Newsletter From the Office of Senator Andy Kim

Hi New Jersey,

We’re over two weeks into a government shutdown. We've been traveling around the state, speaking with New Jerseyans impacted by the shutdown, and bringing their stories directly to DC. Most people could care less who is to blame, but they’re clear on this: Speaker Johnson’s and House Republicans’ paid vacation must end. They expect adults in the room to do everything in their power to re-open the government and save healthcare for millions of Americans.

There’s no time to waste. Check out some of these conversations in the “Diner Talk” playlist on our YouTube channel.

We Want to Hear from You:

People are receiving bills in the mail right now, telling them that their ACA premiums are about to skyrocket. We’ve heard directly from New Jerseyans who are concerned about what rising healthcare costs would mean for them and their families. Their stories paint a clear picture: we are in the midst of a healthcare crisis that we must address.

If you are receiving these notices in the mail, or if you would be impacted by rising healthcare costs and the end of the ACA premium tax credits, we want to hear from you today.

Please send your story to [email protected] and help us shine a light on how this would impact you.

Government Shutdown Resources:

Our office will be hosting a Constituent Services Resource Fair on Friday, October 24th from 10am - 2pm at Atlantic Cape Community College (341 Court-House Dennis Rd., Cape May Court House, NJ 08210). This resource fair will be focused on resources people can access during a government shutdown. It will feature help on veterans’ affairs, small businesses, senior services, healthcare, and more, and include participation from local and state government agencies, as well as community organizations and nonprofits.
