The scene was the Idaho capitol in the heart of Boise, where the ACLU and LGBT activists are surprisingly influential. But a few pro-family legislators were unfazed and-with the support of Family Policy Alliance of Idaho-introduced bills to 1) keep biological males out of girls' sports and 2) protect the accuracy of the sex marker on birth certificates. 

Why These Wins Are So Significant

Bills like these had been introduced in other states but had never passed, despite huge need. In many states, boys who claim to be girls are taking spots on girls' sports teams-even winning state titles and breaking records held by actual females. And in virtually every state, vital records are being altered as people change the sex marker on their birth certificates. These changes weaken law enforcement efforts, distort public health statistics and more-all in the name of political correctness. 

Getting these bills through was a battle every step of the way. But with God's help and your faithful support, we won! As coronavirus swirled and the nation shut down, the legislature passed the bills and the governor signed them into law. 

Victories-If We Can Keep Them

But no sooner was the ink dry than the ACLU filed suit against the new laws. It's clear our work is far from over in Idaho, and your help is needed more than ever. But a legal challenge isn't the only threat to these common-sense laws. 

The results of this year's elections will have direct bearing on the ability to spread these victories to other states in 2021-in addition to efforts to protect life, uphold religious freedom, advance parental choice in education and more. 

In fact, 2020 is exponentially more important than most elections. In addition to the presidential race, this is the election that will determine new legislative and congressional districts for the next decade. In most states, those district lines are determined by state legislators and the governor, making state-level races especially critical.
