Aquatic Invasive Species Biologist (IF&W Resource Biologist)

Fish Culturist - TWO Openings

*at the Enfield Fish Hatchery in Enfield and the Casco Fish Hatchery in Casco*

This position supports the operation of one of eight fish culture facilities in the propagation and stocking of various sizes and species of fish to enhance recreational sport fisheries, as well as conserve and restore native fish. The position is responsible for implementing tasks directed by supervisory staff to support all aspects of fish husbandry, fish stocking, and the maintenance, construction, operation, and security of facility infrastructure. The position has a key role in the development and delivery of science-based education programs to increase public awareness, participation in fishing, and support for Division work programs. The position also provides professional and scientific work in assisting fisheries biological staff.

Fish Culture Assistant Supervisor

*at the Dry Mills Fish Hatchery in Gray*

This position supports the operation of one of eight fish culture facilities in the propagation and stocking of various sizes and species of fish to enhance recreational sport fisheries, as well as conserve and restore native fish. The position is responsible for supervision of on-station fish culturists and directing the implementation of all on-station work programs while ensuring all day-to-day operational necessities and actions happen in a timely and appropriate manner. The position provides professional and scientific work in assisting fisheries biological staff. The position is also responsible for overseeing fish culturist-led public educational and outreach events, ensuring program alignment with outreach goals established by the Division, and coordinating with the Department’s Information and Education Division.

Wildlife Care and Education Technician

This position provides comprehensive care for captive wildlife while supporting Maine Wildlife Park’s mission to educate the public and advance the Department’s broader outreach goals.
