Two weeks into the federal government shutdown, most people I’ve spoken with didn’t even know it happened — because Washington is so broken that the dysfunction feels routine.

But make no mistake, there are real people being hurt.

* Military servicemembers and their families are going without pay.
* Law enforcement and border patrol agents are showing up to work without a paycheck.
* Air traffic controllers are keeping our skies safe with no certainty of when they’ll be paid.
And while they sacrifice, our current congressman continues to collect his paycheck, despite voting for the shutdown.

That’s what’s wrong with Washington. The political class protects itself while the people who actually serve our country are left to struggle. Instead of standing up for them, our current congressman has chosen partisan politics over the people he represents.

I’m tired of the infighting, the finger-pointing, and the political games. I’m running for Congress to fight for you — not a party, not the insiders in Washington. I’ll work to protect those who serve our country, secure our border, keep our communities safe, and put an end to this broken status quo.

If you’re tired of the same Washington games, I’m asking you to join me. Together, we can restore common sense and accountability to Congress.
