URGENT: 900+ chemicals in everyday products linked to higher breast cancer risk

Should the FDA allow chemicals linked to breast cancer in everyday products?

Dear friend,

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and it’s more urgent than ever to act on alarming new research.

A 2024 peer-reviewed environmental health study identified more than 900 chemicals that can disrupt hormones or cause mammary gland tumors, and both of these changes may increase the risk of breast cancer. These chemicals are used in everyday items, from cleaning products to children’s toys.

Shockingly, none of these chemicals undergo meaningful safety review before hitting store shelves.

Our chemical safety system is broken – and it’s putting families at risk.

Before Breast Cancer Awareness Month ends, we need at least 1,000 EWG supporters like you to weigh in. Take our quick survey – your feedback helps us fight for stronger chemical safety standards.
