Hi John

Today, we got creative with road signs on Chancellor Rishi Sunak's route to work as he prepared to set out the details of the UK's economic recovery in a big speech in Parliament.

Our signs were there to remind him - and the rest of the government - that all roads must lead to a green recovery.

Can you help make the message even louder and clearer for Rishi Sunak? A green recovery needs action, not just words - and we need to push the government to make it happen.

As well as tackling the climate emergency, a green recovery could create 1.8 million green jobs [1]. These jobs would provide a crucial lifeline for young people, those transitioning from polluting industries, and the people facing unemployment after coronavirus.

Last week, Boris Johnson laid out his vision for the future - but it was just more of the same. [2] We've seen snippets of Rishi Sunak's speech, and we're concerned it doesn't go far enough. [3]

The government wants us to believe they are serious about a green recovery. But so far, their plans to tackle the climate crisis don't stack up to the scale of the challenge.

There's still time to turn things around. A green recovery makes the most sense, for us and the planet that we live on.

We can rebuild the economy and tackle the climate emergency at the same time. But the government needs to act fast to make that happen.

The last few months have been tough for many of us. As we emerge from lockdown, we need to continue to look after each other - and that means building something better than we had before.

Coronavirus has shown us how connected our health is to the health of the planet. And while we need to focus on rebooting the economy, that shouldn't be at the expense of the climate.

Can you get that message to Rishi Sunak? Click on the button below to tell him the only recovery is a green recovery.
