From a young age, my parents taught me that voting isn’t just an option — it’s an obligation.
The right to vote is foundational to our democracy. It defines our nation and state, and is the reservoir from which all other rights flow.
And here in California, voting in our upcoming special election is happening right now!
Election Day is three weeks from today, but let’s remember: Tuesday, November 4th isn’t the only day you can vote — it’s just the *last* day. Every day between now and November 4th can be Election Day for Californians.
Every Californian should have already received their ballot in the mail, and I encourage you to vote early in any of these secure and reliable ways:
-
By mail — fill out and return your ballot via USPS. Put it in the mail it as soon as you’ve filled it out!
-
By dropbox — fill out and return your ballot in one of the hundreds of ballot dropboxes throughout our communities, including at all public libraries. Click to find a dropbox.
-
In person — early vote centers will open in 29 counties starting October 25th. Find one near you by clicking here.
Voting early ensures your ballot is received and counted in plenty of time — but of course, you can also vote in person on Tuesday, November 4th.
However you vote — make sure you do it!
