Did you hear President Obama give James a shout out on the final episode of Marc Maron’s podcast?
They were discussing where the national Democratic Party has gone wrong. Then President Obama brought up James as his example of who is getting it right, saying: “He’s terrific. Really talented young man.”
He applauded James for having conversations in places like Joe Rogan’s podcast — because “it requires confidence in your actual convictions to debate and have a conversation with somebody who disagrees with you.”
Too many Democratic politicians are afraid of unfriendly environments, and they criticize those who go on Joe Rogan or Fox News.
James just doesn’t think about it that way. Like Obama said, “what people long for is some core integrity that seems absent” and “[James’] starting point is, ‘Let me say what I believe.’”
For James, it’s simple: We have far more in common with our neighbors than the billionaires and puppet politicians who are rigging the system against us. And the best way to remind people of that is to go everywhere and talk to everyone — including with people who are different from us.
This is a huge deal. Not only because it’s an honor, but because the fact that our underdog campaign has already caught President Obama’s attention tells you that something really is happening in Texas.
