Donald Trump’s government shutdown is putting enormous strain on working families who are missing paychecks and experiencing huge delays in government services.
To make things worse, funding for critical food assistance programs is at risk of running completely dry if the shutdown drags on into November, threatening access to food for thousands of families.
That’s why I’ve cosponsored the Feed Our Families Act to make sure food assistance programs continue running for 90 days during government shutdowns.
We can’t let billionaires get tax breaks while Delaware kids go hungry. I’m working hard to protect health care and end this shutdown, but in the meantime, we need to do everything we can to help those who are most affected by it.
