Symbols are powerful forces that can change the course of history—for better or for worse.
And the symbolism behind this race for control of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court will take your breath away: Pennsylvania is the birthplace of democracy as we know it. It’s where the Declaration of Independence was drafted and signed in 1776, and where the United States Constitution was drafted in 1789.
That’s why MAGA is spending millions of dollars, and fighting tooth and nail to win like it is a presidential election. If they knock out three Democratic seats on the highest court in Pennsylvania all in one election, it would be a right-wing rallying cry heard around the country.
The PA Supreme Court has stood firmly against MAGA’s most terrifying desires: preventing the GOP from instituting a total abortion ban, stopping them from throwing out hundreds of thousands of valid votes in key elections, and thwarting Republican attempts to gerrymander PA’s congressional map.
The 5-2 Democratic majority on the Court has protected all of us from the outsized national impact that would follow MAGA getting what they want in PA. That’s why what happens here in just three more weeks will have massive consequences for everyone across America.
Now, all of that is at stake — and with the 2026 Midterm (and the 2028 presidential election) just around the corner, the timing could not be worse.
