John, I am honored to join my Democratic colleagues in co-sponsoring the George Floyd Justice in Policing act.

 

This transformative legislation will completely re-imagine policing. It will: 


Prohibit discrimination by federal, state, and local police
 

Ban chokeholds and no-knock warrants on the federal level 
 

Mandate the use of dashboard and body cameras for federal officers 
 

Create a National Police Misconduct registry to prevent offending officers from just moving from one jurisdiction to another


I will continue to engage with constituents and families throughout California to ensure that we take any steps necessary to end police brutality and safeguard the civil rights of all Americans.

 

But I need your help to build the broad support we need to get this critical bill passed through Congress!
