Drawing district lines to favor one party over another, gerrymandering, has long been used as a tool to dilute the political power of marginalized communities. 

Now, Republicans are once again using this undemocratic tactic to redraw Congressional lines to cling to their House majority and bulldoze their extreme agenda through Washington. And North Carolina is their next target.

Republicans are answering Trump’s call to redraw the congressional maps here in North Carolina to make the map more favorable to them ahead of the midterm elections.

Instead of facing voters at the ballot box, the Republican party, led by Donald Trump, is choosing their voters rather than earning their support. They know their policies are deeply unpopular, so they’re redrawing the maps and rigging our elections.

This is a direct attack on the foundation of our democracy, and it's not limited to North Carolina. In state after state, this coordinated effort to rig elections and silence dissent is putting the future of fair representation at risk.
