I’ve never been the kind of politician who tip-toes around what we’re all thinking. I like to call it like I see it — because, frankly, MAGA Republicans are going to attack me either way.

So at a moment like this, I’m not going to stay quiet.

Donald Trump has ordered the National Guard to illegally invade Portland, Chicago, and DC. Now, he’s directed the Department of Justice to go after his political enemies — indicting former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James on bogus charges. Who’s next?

Trump wants us to live in fear. He wants us to shut up, be polite, and do what he says. My response? Hell. No.

But since I represent one of the most competitive Congressional districts in the country — a seat that could truly determine the House majority next year — that voice puts me at the top of Trump’s watchlist. In a matter of months, the wannabe dictator in the White House has defied court rulings, ignored due process, wreaked havoc on our cities, and turned ICE into his personal secret police force.

Meanwhile, what have we heard from MAGA Republicans in Congress? The so-called “Party of Limited Government?” Not a word.

Instead, they’re more than happy to support Trump’s authoritarian takeover, as long as they stay off Trump’s radar. It’s cowardice, plain and simple — and it needs to end on Election Day next year.

We have ONE opportunity to hold Trump accountable during his term — but we can only do it if we win THIS toss-up seat on Election Day next year.
