Message from Congressman Scott Fitzgerald

Good afternoon, everyone!

We are now officially two weeks into the Democrat shutdown. House Republicans passed a clean CR on September 19th—well in advance of the deadline to prevent this shutdown from happening.

So why is the government still shut down? Senate Democrats are playing partisan games and are demanding $1.5 trillion in new spending for a short-term CR that would:

-Reinstate taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegal aliens.

-Slash $50 billion in investments in rural healthcare.

-Provide $500 million to prop up liberal news outlets.

-Keep dead people on the Medicaid rolls.

-Provide taxpayer funding for radical transgender surgeries.

The Democrats' so-called "proposal" is a radical wish list that the American people overwhelmingly rejected last November. In contrast, while Senate Democrats, led by Chuck Schumer, double down to appease their far-left base, President Trump secured a historic peace deal between Israel and Hamas.

This cease-fire is a historic moment in history and President Trump is delivering on his promise of peace through strength.

President Trump promised to bring the hostages home and deliver security for Israel. He has fully delivered and is laying the groundwork for lasting peace in the Middle East.

Keep reading on to hear additional updates about what's been happening in Washington and Wisconsin. I hope you have a great week.

Veterans Roundtable

It was great to join local veterans at the West Bend American Legion last week. We discussed key issues facing Wisconsin veterans and made clear: despite the Democrats’ shutdown, VA Medical Centers, Outpatient Clinics, and Vet Centers remain open. VA benefits will continue to be processed and delivered.

Rep. Fitzgerald Talks Government Shutdown and President Trump’s Historic Israel-Hamas Peace Deal

In case you missed it, I recently joined Mornings with Maria on Fox Business to discuss where things are at with the government shutdown and President Trump's historic Israel-Hamas peace deal.

Since day one, we’ve all known what this Democrat shutdown is really about, Senator Schumer
trying to fend off a primary.

The House passed a clean CR last month to prevent a shutdown. This could end TODAY if Senate Democrats like Senator Baldwin stopped the partisan posturing.

The Biden COVID Credit Scheme: Subsidizing Insurers at the Expense of Patients

Democrats are demanding billions of dollars to prop up Obamacare in exchange for their votes to open the government. I’m open to a real conversation about reforming our healthcare system, but not without serious changes.

Here’s what’s really going on:

Fitzgerald Talks Support for President Trump Sending National Guard to Chicago & Government Shutdown

On Sunday, I joined WISN 12's UPFRONT to discuss President Trump's decision to send the National Guard to Chicago and the Democrat shutdown.

President Trump is sending the National Guard into Chicago because Democrat leaders failed to restore public safety. Instead of working with the Trump Administration, Mayor Johnson created “ICE-free zones” that undermine federal law enforcement. It’s time to restore the rule of law.

Illegal Border Crossings Drop to Lowest Level Since 1970: "Most Secure Border in American History"

Incredible work by the Trump Administration. This is proof that secure borders are possible and that open borders were always a policy CHOICE by the Biden Administration.
