I really love this piece by Sumitra Mattai, because it perfectly captures the constant internal negotiations and thoughts of many moms. In short, she argues: “I want to let my kids in on a secret: This isn't the real me.” She goes into how she is, yes, a mother, but she’s so much more, and she struggles to have her kids see that. It’s well worth a read.
