John,
Across North Carolina, we are joining communities and standing up for safety, healing, and change. Whether it's fighting dangerous legislation like Permitless Carry, calling for life-saving Community Violence Intervention (CVI) programs, or building a community of survivors, this movement only grows stronger when you are part of it.
Here’s how you can take action with us over the next month: |

🚨Durham Needs a CVI Program—Your Voice Matters!
Last year, Durham abruptly shut down Bull City United, its violence interruption program. But the need for this work didn’t disappear—it’s more urgent than ever.
If you live in Durham, show up this Thursday, October 16 at 9:30am at the Joint Durham City-County meeting at Durham City Hall to call for a deep, long-term investment in CVI programs like violence interruption.
Want to speak at the meeting or need more info?

We’ve been hitting the road—connecting with folks in Henderson, Rocky Mount, and more—to share resources, distribute gun locks, and build pressure for CVI programs and safe storage.
We’ll be at events soon in Greensboro, Durham, Raleigh, and Rocky Mount, and we’d love for you to join us at the table.

📞 Next Phone Bank: Stop SB 50
Monday, November 17
Lawmakers are feeling the heat from the gun lobby—but our pressure to stop permitless carry is working! So far there has been no veto override vote in the NC House on the permitless carry bill, SB 50. Calls are one of the most effective ways to reach lawmakers on the fence about a vote - let’s keep it up. Join us to make calls and help stop SB 50 from becoming law.
