On the candidate:

  • Eric grew up in Michigan as the son of Vietnamese immigrants and an auto worker, shaped by the challenges facing working families.

  • He served at the U.S. Department of Commerce, where he helped lead implementation of the CHIPS & Science Act and supported investments creating jobs in Michigan.

  • He has built a career fighting for justice—advocating for children affected by lead-contaminated water and veterans denied the benefits they earned.

On the district:

  • Encompasses Macomb and Oakland Counties, including Sterling Heights and Rochester Hills.

  • A competitive battleground with shifting suburban demographics.

  • Home to a growing AAPI community and a strong base of union and working-class voters.
