Two bills in Congress need your support.
Dear John,
Over 30% of food in the US goes uneaten. The numbers are staggering: 133 billion pounds of food wasted annually $161 billion in economic loss 10% of all US greenhouse gas emissions Millions of acres of wildlife habitat destroyed
This isn't just an environmental crisis—it's hitting your wallet too. The average American family loses $3,000 per year on food that goes uneaten.
Two bipartisan bills can change this. But they need momentum. The Food Date Labeling Act standardizes expiration date labels nationwide. No more confusion about "sell by" vs. "best by" vs. "use by." You'll know exactly when food has gone bad versus when it just might not taste quite as fresh. The NO TIME TO Waste Act establishes a federal Office of Food Loss and Waste, funds critical research, and launches a national campaign to cut food waste in half by 2030.
Both bills have bipartisan sponsors. Both are common sense. Both need your support today. |
