Henry Cuellar here, representative for Texas’ 28th congressional district. I wanted to tell you a little about myself and ask you to help us meet our $5,000 mid-month goal with a contribution. Let me tell you why:

I’m proud to be a native South Texan, and as one of eight children born to migrant farm workers in Laredo, Texas, I was raised with a passion for education and a strong work ethic. I have and will always carry a passion for improving the lives of South Texans in everything I do.

Education has always been part of my journey: After practicing law and teaching at Laredo State University, I decided to dedicate my life to public service. Everyone should have a fair chance at achieving the American Dream.

But friend, Republican lawmakers are trying to unfairly redistrict Texas and make it harder for working families to have fair representation, which makes this deadline all the more important.

As Congressman for TX-28, I’ve made sure veterans had affordable healthcare plans, created the first CHIP program, and brought home millions for local hospitals.

Now, I’m asking for your help. Republicans have already redrawn the Texas map to add FIVE new red seats and are now trying to gerrymander me out of my seat. Can you chip in $10, $25, or whatever you can spare as we approach our mid-month deadline to help us reach our goal and fight back?
