It’s not often I get to deliver positive climate news, so here goes: For the first time in HISTORY, renewable energy has overtaken coal as the world’s #1 electricity source.

So, what’s the catch here? Well, the IEA report also found that the U.S. and Europe actually increased dependence on fossil fuels this year, bucking the global trend. It’s part choice (the Trump admin is run by fossil fuel barons) and part chance (the Russian invasion of Ukraine is messing with global energy markets).

We’ve got plenty of work to do. First, though, let’s take a moment to celebrate this historic moment for our planet, proof that sustainable growth is possible.

Renewables are the future. The world knows it. How long until America gets the memo?

If you’d like that day to come sooner rather than later, join my Climate Crusade. Will you pitch in $10 to elect science-literate leaders, invest big in renewable energy, and build a sustainable American future for all? [[link removed]]
