I’ve always loved scary movies like The Conjuring— but nothing compares to the horror I lived through when I was 19.

After visiting my grandfather, I got in my car — and suddenly, three men with guns jumped out of an unmarked vehicle. Fearing for my life, I slammed the car in reverse. They opened fire. The bullet missed me by inches.

It wasn’t a carjacking — it was a case of racial profiling. These undercover officers thought I was a wanted suspect. They beat me, handcuffed me, and left me terrified — but determined.

That night changed everything. It’s why I chose to serve in law enforcement. It’s why I fight every day for justice and accountability.

Now, I’m fighting another battle — because Trump and MAGA are weaponizing our justice system, and Jeff Van Drew is sitting on his hands while Speaker Johnson hands him a vacation.
