Rising costs and repeated hurricane losses make it harder for Florida’s fruit, vegetable and nursery growers to stay competitive. Too often, these producers are left on the sidelines when federal assistance is distributed, even as they battle invasive plant diseases and unfair foreign competition. That’s why I led a bipartisan letter urging USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins to include Florida’s specialty crop producers in upcoming federal economic assistance programs. With more than 40 locations, 910 licensed beds and 2,000 nurses, their team continues to expand access to critical services and enhance the health and wellbeing of families across Polk County.
