John xxxxxx,

I retired as an Air Force Lieutenant Colonel and federal ethics advisor. I served my country by upholding the rule of law. That experience taught me one essential, infuriating truth about Washington: Corruption doesn't care which team you play for.

It just cares about which members of Congress and their rich friends are getting richer.

So I’m coming to you today to ask you to sign our petition calling for a complete BAN on D.C. politicians trading stocks while in office. [ [link removed] ]

Let’s look at the evidence:

* When President Trump’s tariff announcement caused chaos in the markets on Friday, someone with clear inside knowledge made $200 million betting against the crypto market right before the prices crashed.
* The President himself launched his own Trump crypto coin to make a quick buck, crossing every line of propriety.
* On the Republican side, we see headlines about folks like Marjorie Taylor Greene making questionable stock purchases right before market-moving announcements, netting huge gains.
* On the Democratic side, Nancy Pelosi’s family has amassed absurd wealth from highly scrutinized stock trades, giving the appearance of profiting directly from insider political information.

This isn't an R vs. D problem. It is a D.C. problem. It’s an integrity problem.

The people we send to Washington to represent us are instead using their offices and their classified knowledge to operate a self-serving casino where they almost always win, rigging the system while South Dakotans pay the price at the grocery store.

I’m running as an Independent because I refuse to be part of the self-enriching D.C. Country Club. Unlike career politicians like Mike Rounds, I’m not indebted to PACs or personal portfolios. I’m indebted only to South Dakotans.

To stop this corruption, we need to take away their ability to profit from public service. It’s time to ban members of Congress from trading individual stocks, period.

Will you sign our petition right now demanding an immediate ban on congressional stock trading? [ [link removed] ]
