Hi Reader,
On Oct. 9, New York Attorney General Letitia James was indicted on federal bank fraud charges regarding a mortgage for a home she owns in Virginia. Three days later, George Stephanopoulos, host of ABC’s “This Week,” asked Vice President J.D. Vance about a recent ProPublica investigation, which found that at least three of Trump’s Cabinet members call multiple homes their primary residences on mortgages:
“How do you respond to critics who say the Trump administration is engaging in a double-standard here?”
Vance changed the topic.
Stephanopoulos asked, “Do you dispute the facts that ProPublica reported?”
Vance replied, “Do I dispute a far-left blog that I haven’t read, that you brought up in this interview? I have no idea, George. I have no idea what they actually said. But I certainly question the source. I question their credibility. And most importantly, I am not worried about what they said about members of our administration.”
Vance did not respond to the facts of the story.
