I hadn’t considered how central these cases would become to my role as the People’s Lawyer…

Phil Weiser for Colorado

Friend,

As Colorado’s Attorney General, my job has always been to defend your rights and hold powerful interests accountable — including the President of the United States.

Over the last nine months, I’ve sued Donald Trump and his administration in court *37 times* to block their extreme abuses of executive power — and we’ve won multiple key victories.

These weren’t just courtroom victories. They’ve shaped how I fight for our state. And they show the kind of leadership Colorado needs in the Governor’s office: someone who stands up to Trump, his allies, and anyone else who tries to undermine Coloradans’ rights.

That’s why I’m running for Governor, and today, it’s why I’m asking for your support in this campaign. Will you pitch in $37 to my campaign and help me keep up the fight to defend Coloradans and preserve our most fundamental constitutional rights?

It’s simple: when Coloradans are under attack, I step up and take action.

When Donald Trump tried to rip up the Fourteenth Amendment and ban birthright citizenship — on his first day in office — we sued immediately, won, and ensured his illegal order remains blocked in Colorado while our lawsuit plays out in the courts.

After Trump’s Department of Energy imposed an arbitrary funding cap on state-run energy programs, my office sued in court, and restored vital funding for Colorado’s clean energy programs.

And when Trump moved to illegally shut down AmeriCorps, I led a multi-state coalition to sue his administration in court — and the White House backed down, later releasing over $184 million in illegally withheld funding for AmeriCorps service programs across the country.

While that’s just a fraction of the 37 cases we’ve taken up to defend Colorado and its people from federal overreach, I want to be very clear: We’ve made it this far because I simply refuse to sit back and watch while your rights, freedoms, and dignity are under daily attack — even if that means I have to take on the President of the United States myself.

So if that sounds like the kind of Governor you want leading Colorado as we navigate this unprecedented period of attacks on our rights, freedoms, and the Constitution itself, I hope I can count on your support today. Please, if you’re with me, pitch in $37 to my campaign for Governor and join our movement to build a better Colorado for all →
