 It's officially been two weeks since Republicans shut the government down to avoid addressing the healthcare crisis they created. In that time, I’ve been clear: Republicans own this shutdown. The ball is in their court to bring forward a funding bill that centers the American people, protects affordable healthcare, and lowers costs. If Republicans get their way, 23,000 people in OR-05 will see their healthcare costs go up. Prices are high enough already. We need to be making care more affordable, not less. I’m ready to come to the table and get to work for Oregonians. It’s time for Republicans to end this chaos in Washington and negotiate with Democrats on a deal that reverses cuts to healthcare and puts hardworking people first — not billionaires.
