Trump fumbles repeatedly while bragging in front of world leaders
In what was supposed to be a victory lap of sorts for America's wannabe dictator, Donald Trump opted to shoot from the hip, offering up one embarrassing, teleprompter-free riff after another as he celebrated the signing of a formal Israel-Hamas ceasefire deal in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. The peace agreement was signed by Trump, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Turkey's Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar, with more than a dozen other world leaders present to publicly lend their support. While it remains to be seen if peace can persist, the historic agreement is meant to bring an end to more than two years of war that absolutely devastated the Gaza strip and left more than 67,000 Palestinians and just under 2,000 Israelis dead. And so, with that stage set and the world ostensibly watching, the MAGA cult leader...mumbled incoherently about Air Force One being covered with the Egyptian desert (?), fawned over the "beautiful young woman" from Italy (Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni), accidentally called Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney "president," praised Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's authoritarian crack down on free press, and boasted — again, in front of 20 world leaders — that his opinion was ultimately the only one that mattered.

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Eric Trump caught telling bald-faced lie during on air tantrum
In his desperation to rewrite history and cover up just some of the many, many crimes committed by his dear ol' dad, Donald's third-favorite son had a real whoopsie-daisy moment on Fox News yesterday. Teeing up what almost certainly looks like yet another imminent, retribution-fueled indictment — this time targeting Jack Smith — Eric Trump claimed the former special prosecutor planted physical evidence during the FBI's infamous raid of Mar-a-Lago on August 8, 2022. Just one small problem with Eric's explosive accusation: Jack Smith was appointed special counsel to investigate Donald on November 18, 2022, three months after federal agents found thousands of classified government documents scattered around the MAGA cult leader's Florida country club. Better luck next lie, Eric!

Trumpers launch SECRET ATTACK on our voting rights
While the nation is distracted by Trump's attacks on our cities and ICE's gratiutious acts of heinous violence, right-wingers are working behind the scenes to make it harder for Americans to vote! Over 200,000 comments have been submitted by Trumpers to the Election Assistance Commission urging them to increase the documentation requirements for Americans to register to vote! This will create more obstacles and make it harder for new voters to exercise their right to a political voice. We need YOU to go to the EAC website and submit a comment telling them NO, we DON'T want to make it harder for Americans to vote! You can submit your own comment, or if you don't feel like it, you can copy and paste this sample comment into the text box:
I’m against requiring citizens to submit a passport, birth certificate, or other citizenship documents to register to vote! Only half of American citizens have a passport and 69 million American citizens don’t have a birth certificate with their current legal name on it, most of them women who changed their names when they got married.
The deadline is October 20th, so we need all the comments we can get before it's too late! Click HERE to make your voice heard!
Sen. Markwayne Mullin says only people with "deranged hatred" protest Trump
Republicans have taken their fearmongering of peaceful dissent and breathless defense of all things Donald Trump to delusional new levels. Oklahoma Sen. Markwayne Mullin sauntered onto Sean Hannity's show last night and claimed with a straight face that the only reason anyone would protest Trump — who not two weeks ago literally labeled Democrats the "Party Of Hate, Evil, And Satan" — is out of "deranged hatred" for the authoritarian crook. Not the incendiary rhetoric and demonization of anyone who disagrees with him, the morally reprehensible mistreatment of immigrants, the kidnapping and disappearing of people right off American streets, the foreign gulags, the deployment of National Guard troops to quash peaceful protests, the decades of credible sexual assault claims, the incessant lying, the racism, the sexism, the annhilation of political norms, the anti-LGBTQ crusading, the banning of books, the refusal to release the Epstein files, the failed insurrection following his electoral defeat in 2020, the weaponization of the DOJ, the deadly assault on science and reason, the defunding of live-saving aid programs around the world, the rampant corruption and self-enrichment schemes, DOGE, the shutdown, or the wholesale embrace of fascism. Nope. None of those reasons. It's because we are simply "deranged." Got it.

Trump fumes at Time Magazine’s "super bad" new cover: "They disappeared my hair!"
Oh, Donald. Your hair has been disappearing itself just fine on its own for years — surgeries, tinctures, dye jobs, and incredibly weird combing techniques be damned.
New York Times, AP, Newsmax among news outlets who say they won't sign new Pentagon rules
A bevy of news organizations — including, notably, the far-right, MAGA-propaganda-spewing Newsmax — has refused to sign DUI hire Sec. Pete Hegseth's nakedly unconstitutional pledge to abide by draconian new press rules, a move that could very well see the outlets' reporters evicted from the Pentagon in the next 24 hours. The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, The Associated Press, and Reuters have also refused to sign, with the latter releasing the following statement: "Reuters is bound by its commitment to accurate, impartial, and independent news. We also steadfastly believe in the press protections afforded by the US Constitution, the unrestricted flow of information, and journalism that serves the public interest without fear or favor. The Pentagon’s new restrictions erode these fundamental values." Hegseth responded to the pushback — via nüTwitter, of course — with a super-professional hand-waving emoji. His team has warned that reporters who don't acknowledge the bullshit policy in writing by today must turn in badges admitting them to the Pentagon and clear out their workspaces tomorrow. America, y'all. Home of the brave, land of the free!
Trump Cabinet secretary says peaceful protesters are "antifa" terrorists
Republicans have clearly received their marching orders and are dutifully rolling out coordinated talking points, which apparently include declaring anyone who dares to stand against fascism an actual terrorist. To hear the likes of Transportation Sec. Sean Duffy tell it, anyone who attends this Saturday's "No Kings" protest is a paid protester and/or nefarious "antifa" agent. Again, for the umpteenth time, "antifa" is no more a formal organization than fascism. The Trump regime can label an idea a "terrorist organization" all it wants, but it simply will not stick, for there is no there there. There are, however, a number of actual organizations supporting Saturday's protests, including the Human Rights Campaign, the American Civil Liberties Union, and the College Democrats of America. Click here for more information on the nationwide protest taking place this Saturday, October 18. Tell 'em "antifa" sent ya.

Amid shutdown, Trump administration guts department overseeing special education
Sweeping layoffs announced Friday by the Trump regime landed another body blow to the Department of Education, this time gutting the office responsible for overseeing special education, according to multiple sources within the department. The reduction-in-force, or RIF, affects the dozens of staff responsible for roughly $15 billion dollars in special education funding, and for making sure states provide special education services to the nation's 7.5 million children with disabilities. "This is decimating the office responsible for safeguarding the rights of infants, toddlers, children, and youth with disabilities," said one department employee, who, like the others NPR spoke with, requested anonymity for fear of retribution. It is so good to be great again.
Joe Biden and Netanyahu were offered Gaza deal a year ago, says negotiator
While Trump takes his victory lap for a Gaza ceasefire deal, new reporting shows that the same deal was on the table over a year ago — but Benjamin Netanyahu refused to take it, and then-President Biden refused to pressure him to do so. Gershon Baskin, the architect of the negotiations that freed the Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit in 2011, revealed that Hamas had agreed to the exact same terms of this week's deal in September 2024, but that Biden officials had disregarded it while Netanyahu refused it point blank. Baskin said he got his plan onto Biden’s desk but was unable to get a meeting with the president's chief negotiator at the time. "Brett McGurk refused to sway from the bad deal that he was negotiating," Baskin said, adding that members of the US negotiating team "were as frustrated as I was in their inability to convince Biden and Biden’s people to look seriously at the deal on the table." One wonders how many thousands upon thousands of lives could have been saved if different decisions had been made more than a year ago.
Seattle and Portland airports refuse to air Kristi Noem's TSA video blaming Democrats for shutdown
Seattle-Tacoma International Airport has wisely decided not to show a blatant propaganda TSA video starring ICE Barbie and Homeland Security Sec. Kristi Noem, who is laughably blaming Democrats for the ongoing government shutdown. The Port of Seattle’s choice mirrors that of Portland International Airport, which also refused to play the message. In addition to violating the Hatch Act, which prohibits the use of public property for political messages and limits political activities by federal employees, Noem's video is pure fiction. The Trump regime thinks so little of the American public, they are perfectly comfortable shoveling horseshit down our collective throats and insisting it's chocolate.
