Hey there,
It’s been a year since Meta launched “Teen Accounts.”
We wanted to see how teens were directly experiencing these accounts, so we partnered with Heat Initiative and Parents Together to find out through a nationally representative survey. Our results were unsurprising, but upsetting nonetheless: 47% of 13-15 year olds have encountered unsafe content or unwanted messages in the past month. And, a majority of teens said they’ve grown “used to it,” showing how normalized these harmful experiences have become on Instagram.
