Hi John,
Parsing through the data from Wisconsin's primary delivers a lesson ahead of the 2020 general election.
When people requested an absentee ballot early, they were more likely to return the ballot. If we mail applications to voters and follow-up with texts and calls -- early in the election year -- then we’ll have a better chance of increasing voter turnout.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Send mail-in ballot applications >> follow-up with voters to ensure they submit their applications >> encourage voters to return their ballots >> votes!
Typically campaigns and organizations are, well, kind of coasting in the summer. Everyone is building up their volunteer bases and getting folks trained so they can pivot in the early fall to persuade and turn out voters.
This. Year. Is. Different. We must accelerate our timeline and make sure Americans can vote from home.
We are sending mail-in ballot applications directly to swing state voters. If we can remove barriers to applying to vote-by-mail, by sending the applications to voters along with return postage, more people can vote safely in 2020.
The sooner we reach voters with our applications, the better. That’s why I’m asking you to join our grassroots movement that’s making it easier to vote-by-mail in 2020.
Time is of the essence right now. We can't squander this summer and miss this incredible opportunity to get millions of people signed up to vote-by-mail.
Thank you for your time,
Suzy
