Dear John,
On October 1, Republicans in Congress forced the government to shut down because of their unwillingness to work with Democrats to fund the government and address the health care crisis. I am working to keep critical services up and running for families here in the Inland Empire while also lowering health care costs for Americans across the country.
I am ready to work with Republicans at any time to negotiate a bipartisan deal that reopens the government, protects health care and meets the needs of the American people.
Last week, I hosted a Virtual Town Hall with Inland Empire residents where I talked about how I’m fighting to protect health care and how the government shutdown may impact you. If you missed it, you can watch the full video recording of my Virtual Town Hall HERE.
As your Representative in Congress, I will work to communicate about how this shutdown may impact you and your family while also ensuring you have access to the resources you need during this time. This is an especially difficult moment for federal workers, their families and our entire community.
My offices remain open and are working to ensure that people in the Inland Empire have the information and support they need to get through this shutdown. As always, if you have questions or need assistance, please reach out to my D.C. office at (202) 225-3201 or my San Bernardino office at (909) 890-4445.
Thanks,
Pete Aguilar
Member of Congress
