Dear John,
At 10 a.m. ET tomorrow (October 14th), NhRP Senior Staff Attorney Jake Davis will appear before the Michigan Court of Appeals in our landmark case seeking the right to liberty for seven chimpanzees held captive at the DeYoung Family Zoo—the first case of its kind in Michigan and the Midwest.
If you’re unable to attend the hearing in person, you can watch live via the Michigan Court of Appeals’ YouTube channel. The NhRP will be given 15 minutes for oral arguments, so we recommend joining the livestream promptly at 10 a.m. ET. We hope you’ll be with us for this historic moment in legal history! |
This case marks a powerful step forward in the movement to secure legal rights for nonhuman animals. Thank you for standing with us as we continue to challenge an outdated legal system and fight for a more just future for all beings.
With gratitude, The NhRP |
