When families in Washington’s 8th District reach out to Kim, there’s one issue that comes up time and again: Child care costs are out of control.

For too many families across our district, it's becoming an impossible choice—go to work, or stay home because you can't afford child care. That's not how it should be.

That’s why Kim teamed up with her Republican colleagues to introduce the Child Care for Working Families Act, a bipartisan bill that would:

✅ Cap child-care costs so working families never pay more than a reasonable share of their income

✅ Invest in child-care providers and early-education workers so they can earn fair wages and keep classrooms staffed

✅ Expand access in rural and underserved areas, where child-care deserts make it nearly impossible for parents to find quality options

✅ Support economic growth by helping parents stay in the workforce and reducing the burden on small businesses
