Dear Neighbors,

This week, Speaker Mike Johnson claimed that House Republicans are “working around the clock” to fix health care. However, their One Big Beautiful Bill that passed into law in July did the opposite, cutting $1 trillion from Medicaid and ripping coverage away from 15+ million Americans, including hundreds of thousands across Illinois. These cuts are already threatening hospitals, deepening our maternal health crisis, and leaving families who rely on Medicaid with no other option. These cuts aren’t about saving money; they’re about protecting tax breaks for billionaires at the expense of working families.
