Hi John. I understand people are particularly frustrated with Washington these days.

The government has now been shut down for nearly two weeks. At the same time, many people's health insurance premiums are set to skyrocket unless both parties come together.

The only way forward is a bipartisan solution to end this crisis. So whether we agree on everything or not, it's important to me to hear from you — especially now.

This shutdown is causing real harm to hardworking Kansans. This is a moment that calls for Republicans and Democrats to work together.

I’ll keep advocating for bipartisan cooperation to reopen the government. Both parties must also work together to renew key health care tax breaks before they expire to prevent higher health insurance premiums.
