I had no idea this was happening until I clicked on a Facebook message thread I hadn’t been on for months, because we use it to plan playdates, and hey! There were no playdates, so no reason to check. Except … there were playdates planned. None of these women whom I consider friends were self-isolating. They’re COVID-19 deniers. Because what else can you call people who refuse to admit that it’s dangerous to go out and interact with people when our numbers are spiking so badly?
