Can you sign onto my petition and join me in calling on the GOP to come back to D.C. and work on a deal to reopen the government?

Right now, my colleagues in Washington are failing that basic test. Instead of doing the hard work of governing, they have once again driven us to a government shutdown, despite holding the House, Senate, and the White House. 

While they fail to reopen the government, families across Texas and the country are left behind. Federal employees – our neighbors – won’t get paid. Critical services for farmers, seniors, and veterans are disrupted. And hardworking Americans are left wondering why the people they elected can’t simply work together to keep the lights on.

That’s why we’re asking the GOP to come back to Washington and work with Democrats to reopen the government ASAP.

We’re asking them to cancel the massive cuts to health care they passed earlier this year.

We’re asking them to stop EVEN MORE Americans from getting priced out of their health care plans.

Access to affordable health care is a matter of life and death for hundreds of thousands of families in Texas and around the country. And that’s exactly why I refuse to go along with Republicans’ scheme to keep raising costs and kick struggling American families off of their health care.
