As I write to you today, a historic opportunity for peace in Gaza hangs in the balance. The recent peace deal, agreed to by President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, offers a clear path to end the Gaza war and bring stability to the region.

But make no mistake, John – This deal will only succeed if Hamas releases the hostages, lays down its arms, and gives up power. These are not negotiating points, but non-negotiable demands.

The terms of the deal are clear, and it has the potential to be a necessary step towards peace. But we must remain skeptical of Hamas's intentions. They have a history of manipulating Israelis and using terror to stay relevant.

That's why it's crucial that we stand strong in support of Israel and its right to defend itself. If Hamas fails to disarm, Israel must have the full backing of the United States to defend its interests.

Together, we can bring an end to the Gaza war and forge a path towards lasting peace in the region.
