I received a letter from Gina Long, a mom from rural Wadena, whose husband Sam died by suicide in December 2023. Her story and call for action revealed gaps in our mental health system. In response to her story, we created a pilot program to connect people with help faster. One voice can make a difference.

Ottertail Child Care Moving Forward

As more families and retirees make Ottertail home, our community is stepping up. The state grant I helped kickstart provided seed money for the new child care centers, and volunteers have already raised over $3 million of the $5 million goal to build the child care centers and a community center.
