.Dear Friend,

My House Republican colleagues and I passed a clean funding bill on Sept. 19, more than three weeks ago. Our bill to fund the government has been stalled in the Senate by Democrats.

The Democrats have continued to keep the government shut down because of their out-of-touch demands on discretionary spending, which account for about 25% of government spending. They are pandering to their far-left base, demanding taxpayer-funded health care for illegal aliens and stripping the historic rural health care funding out of the Working Families Tax Cuts.

While the government is shut down, Social Security checks, Medicare, and Medicaid payments will still be sent to recipients of these programs.

.President Trump promised to secure our southern border, and he has delivered on his promise. In fact, the latest U.S. Border Patrol data on the illegal crossings reveals they’re at their lowest annual level since 1970.

In fiscal year 2025, Border Patrol captured 238,000 illegal immigrants. When Joe Biden was president, 2.2 million illegal immigrants were apprehended at the southern border, nearly ten times this year’s figure.

.The Working Families Tax Cuts legislation supports family farms by raising the death tax exemption and making it permanent. This tax exemption benefits more than two million farms throughout the United States, many of which are in the Sunflower State, by allowing more family farms to stay within families.

.Did you know that Kansan Olive Ann Beech is known as the “First Lady of Aviation?” Olive Ann Beech was born in Waverly, Kansas, in 1903, but she later lived in Paola, Augusta, and Wichita. She married Walter Beech in 1930, and in 1932, they opened Beech Aircraft Company in Wichita. After her husband tragically passed away in 1950, she was elected president and chairman of Beech Aircraft. In the early 1980s, she was elected to the board of Raytheon. Olive Ann Beech went on to earn the most aviation accolades of any woman, and she is remembered as the first woman to lead a large aircraft company and for her many contributions to the aviation industry.
